True Alaska wilderness

The creme de la creme of the NOVA backcountry river adventures is the unparalleled 120-mile float from Chitina, Alaska out to the Copper River Delta and Cordova, Alaska. This 6-day/5-night raft trip floats the extent of Alaska’s fourth largest river, the Copper River and traces the historical path used by the first Alaska explorers navigating passage from within the massive Chugach Mountain Range in interior Alaska out to the coast of Prince William Sound.

Highlights of this trip include rich Alaska Native history, remnants of Alaska’s copper mining history, panoramic views of the Wrangell St. Elias National Park, our nation’s largest national park, calving glaciers, icebergs, wildlife and Prince William Sound! Not to mention amazing water, camaraderie, evening campfires, fresh-cooked meals and pure Alaskana.

NOVA and their experienced guides will provide all the trip logistics including your return flight from Cordova to Anchorage, camping gear, dry bags, river gear and 5 days of meals. Additionally, NOVA will provide you a complete itinerary and Must-Pack list prior to departure.

Recommended Options include staying in a hotel in Cordova so you can clean up, enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant, visit the sites of this coastal city and fly back to Anchorage on day 7. Another return option on day 7; return to Anchorage by ferry to Whittier and then take the train to Anchorage.
