This unique Alaska rafting trip starts near its source, the Matanuska Glacier!

A great family float trip for younger children and seniors with a unique photo stop at the spectacular Matanuska Glacier. Launch is generally at the glacier terminus and allows us to row up to the ice and outflow. The trip is predominantly Class II with some Class III rapids which makes this trip suitable for ages 5 and up. The Glacier fork "Main" of the Matanuska River eventually meets up with the Lion Head fork "South" so that both trips end at the same location, our Hick's Creek facility where you're parked. If your looking for a trip with awesome views along the Glenn Highway National Scenic Byway, the huge Matanuska Glacier, and an easy float with a little light whitewater then this one is it!

The four of us want to thank NOVA for its professional management of our Talkeetna trip. Your guides are a credit to your organization. I will continue to recommend NOVA. It is refreshing to see such professionalism and enthusiasm from these people who do the job every day.
